Girona is located north of Barcelona and can be reached from there by bus, train, or your own car. There is an airport located on the AP-7 highway that also accepts international flights (e.g. Ryanair and low cost airlines). It is also 100km (62 miles) away from Barcelona (and Barcelona Airport).

Ryanair provides travellers with several low cost trips from several Spanish and European airports to Girona airport. Once there, you can take a bus or a taxi to the city center. The Girona airport is located 12 kilometres from the city of Girona.

You could also fly to Barcelona and take a train to Girona. There are regular trains from Barcelona airport to Sants railway station, where you will find regular inter-city trains to Girona. See By Train information below.
Barcelona Airport is easily accessible by the highways: Ronda litoral and highway AP-7.

The proximity to the French border offers the possibility of using this airport that is only 80 kilometres away from Girona.

By Train
There are regular inter-city (called media distancia) or long-distance trains arriving at Girona railway station. Trains from Barcelona to Girona leave approximately every hour from Barcelona Estació de Sants. The journey takes 1h20m from Girona to Barcelona Sants and the ticket costs from 18-20€ (two ways). By Bus
There is a bus service from the Girona airport to the bus and train stations of the city. It is a daily service that operates from 4:00 am. and each trip takes around 25 minutes. There is also a daily bus service from this same airport to the North Station of Barcelona that is coordinated by Ryanair (trip duration: 1 hour 10 minutes). The bus company Eurolines also offers a transfer service from Barcelona Prat Airport to the centre of Girona city. There are 3 trips per day. Girona Bus Station .
By Car
Once in Barcelona, take the AP-7 motorway (towards Girona / France). Leave the motorway, when you reach exit 7 (Girona Sur) or exit 6 (Girona Nord).
